Position: Finance Assistant -- GNC

Job Announcement

Good Neighbors Cambodia (GNC) is the field country office of Good Neighbors International working in 37 countries in the world. GNC is implementing long-term development program focusing on sponsorship, child protection, education, health, WASH, income generation & partnership building and advocacy in 9 Community Development Programs in 5 provinces of Cambodia; and we are expanding more programs to other provinces to meet our rapid growth. GNC is now working with key sustainability partners and relevant department of government and NGOs to promote positive impact to vulnerable people, especially children. We are inviting motivated and qualified candidates to join our dynamic team for the following positions:

Finance Assistant – 1 position based in head office, Phnom Penh.
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary and other benefits such as 13th month salary, provident fund, health, life and accident insurance for 24 hours and phone card allowance.  

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a transparency of cash flow of bank, safe-box, and petty cash; and ensure that they are reconciled correctly;
• Ensure that petty cash fund, safe-box fund, and cheque books are properly and securely maintained in a safe place;
• Maintain the computerized accounting system QuickBooks software for Head Office and produce financial and related reports timely and accurately as per requirement;
• Assist in annual budget development and monitor budget execution of head office periodically;
• Ensure a reconciliation of all outstanding accounts of head office including account receivable, account payable, deposit, cash advance etc. are correctly done on time.
• Maintain an appropriate filing system to include all essential finance relevant documentation of the whole GNC to ensure accurate tracking and documentation for audit purposes.
• Assist in developing and implementing the accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes;
• Assist finance team of Head Office to monitor budget execution of all projects, evaluate accounting and internal control systems and identify and communicate control risks, potential consequences and recommendations.
• Other tasks as required by line supervisor.

Requirement

1. Bachelor degree in Finance or Equivalent;
2. Some experience in NGO or INGO projects;
3. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control procedures;
4. Fluency in English and computer skill (Ms. word, excel and PowerPoint);
5. Well organized and able to multitask and understand priorities;
6. Aptitude and interest in financial management and accounting;
7. Honest and trustworthy, hard-working and willing to learn.
