Position: Social Work Technical Advisor
Location: Battambang, Cambodia
As the Community Outreach Social Work Technical Advisor you will shape, design and implement best practice at CCT by overseeing the coaching, guiding and supporting of a large team of Khmer senior social workers operating in villages, communes and out of our community centre.
Key deliverables of the role will include:
You will meet clearly defined deliverables in the context of focusing on the best interests of the child, while continuing to implement CCT’s social work model; Signs of Safety, which is focused on relationship-based and strengths-based practice.
Important to the success of this role is your ability to work as part of a team, and to be proactive and responsive to emerging needs within the organisation and target communities. You will be an experienced social worker leader, with a background in direct case management and team development. You will be experienced in building relationships with vulnerable children, young people and families, and in implementing interventions and supporting families. You will work in collaboration with a team of Khmer senior social workers – supporting them to improve their practice, while they manage the day to day business of a busy child protection system. You will be able to do this, while using a range of other skills to manage existing projects and developing new projects. Building relationships with your team, CCT management, local government and key stakeholders will be an essential part of this role.
This is a challenging role that won’t suit everyone. You will need to be flexible, collaborative, able to deal with stressful situations, and have a good sense of humour. You also need to have a true commitment and understanding of what it takes to mentor and empower other people.
Experience working within NGO’s and / or in international settings, would be very useful.
