Good Neighbors Cambodia (GNC) is the field country office of Good Neighbors International working in 37 countries in the world. Good Neighbors Cambodia is implementing long term integrated projects focusing on sponsorship, education, health, water & sanitation, and advocacy in some provinces of Cambodia; and we are expanding more projects to other provinces to meet our rapid growth. We are seeking more qualified candidates to join our dynamic team for the following positions:

Project Facilitator for "Food for Work" (2 positions based in Sereisophorn town, Banteay Meanchey province) for 11 months – February to December 2016 (Possible extension).
Job description:
  1. Participate in project orientation and capacity building facilitated by GNC and WFP.
  2. Facilitate with CDP staff and Key partners (CDC, CC and village chief etc.) to select project participants for food for food for work, training, and other awareness education.
  3. Facilitate key partners to form committee for the plan of food for work.
  4. Facilitate with CDP staff, HO technical staff, and key partners to implement food for work such as construction of pond, latrines, digging wells, road and fish ponds etc.
  5. Facilitate and coordinate with CDP staff, HO technical staff, and key partners (PDRD, CC etc.) to implement training on hygiene & sanitation practice, disaster risk reduction (DRR) etc. to project participants.
  6. Facilitate and coordinate with HO technical staff, CDP staff and key partners to implement agriculture technique and production such as compost making, home gardening and fish raising etc.
  7. Firmly monitor project activities such as construction of pond, latrine, digging wells, road and fish ponds etc., training and others awareness education.
  8. Work with finance team to prepare food and cash request for food for work, training, and other awareness education.
  9. Monitor and review the overall commodity movements such as food deliveries, storage, transport and distribution at the site and verify if the amounts received have been properly recorded, damaged or suspected to be damaged.
  10. Facilitate and coordinate food distribution for food for work, training and others awareness education.
  11. Assist CDP Manager to prepare coping mechanism for food distribution.
  12. In consultation with the WFP staff and key partners, encourage women’s access to economic skills development and sensitise girls and women on gender issues and gender focused activities;
  13. Reflect with key partners and project participants on the progress of project activities.
  14. Prepare monthly, quarterly and completion project reports and submit to CDP manager.
  15. Other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Requirement

  • Associated or bachelor degree in community and rural development or relevant field.
  • Minimum 1 year of appropriate professional experience in community development or relevant experiences.
  • Good development facilitation including partnership, empowerment and community mobilization
  • Good interpersonal, communication and networking skills.
  • Honest and trustworthy, hardworking and willing to learn
  • Willing to work with the vulnerable and children.
  • Competent in written English communication, computer literate (Ms. word, excel, PPT)
  • Willing travel overnight stay in the community.
