Purpose of the Position
Under
the overall direction of the Regional Chief of Partnerships, the
incumbent is responsible for development, design, planning and
operational management of regional fundraising strategies and activities
focused on individual donors. S/he will serve as private sector
Fundraising advisor to the country office and is accountable for private
sector fundraising recommendations and performance in the region.
Key Expected Results
1.
As Regional Fundraising Manager, plans and sets goals, directs,
manages, supports proactively and, when required, directly implements
individuals' fundraising activities within the region through the
Fundraising Managers in country offices. Identifies innovative
fundraising activities for testing. Analyses competitive environment and
makes recommendations for action. Identifies and recommends to the
Regional Chief of Partnerships for opportunities within the region. When
required by the circumstances, negotiates conditions and facilitates
the relationship with selected implementing partners of individuals'
fundraising initiatives.
2. Analyse, develop and promote long term strategies and programmes to maximise revenue potential from individual donors in selected countries within the region. Identify unforeseen private sector fundraising opportunities and facilitate quick/timely response to such opportunities. Formulate market research programmes for each country and provide guidelines for market testing and results analysis.
3. Develop an annual Regional Work-plan and Budget (including country specific support plans). Co-ordinate with the country Private Sector Fundraising annual plans as well as Income Generation Strategies annexed to CPDs. Monitor and facilitates the implementation of fundraising strategies and work-plans within the region to achieve regional targets. Manage allocation of investment funds for fundraising opportunities and associated costs throughout the planned period. Oversees the development of investment plans and the implementation along the year in order to maximize fundraising capacity mainly through individuals.
4. Review Private Sector Fundraising forecasts, fundraising materials, monthly reports, budget expenditures and annual cash reconciliation reports in regards to individuals' fundraising prepared by the Country Offices with fundraising operations within the region. Based on these reports evaluates the effectiveness of Private Sector Fundraising activities making timely recommendations to achieve or surpass targets throughout on-going plan period.
5. Serve as liaison person between the Country Offices, the Regional Support Centre and PFP on all matters concerning the development of Fundraising capacity and income maximization within the region mainly through individual donors and pledge committed giving. Facilitate resolution of problems within PFP which hinder private sector fundraising opportunities. Based on such issues recommends policy procedures through the Regional Chief of Partnerships, for final decision.

Qualifications of Successful Candidate
Advanced
University degree in marketing, business administration or related
field, with training and experience in direct marketing and/or
fundraising. A first level university degree in combination with
qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university
degree.
Eight years progressively responsible experience in direct marketing or fundraising, within the Latin America region, at a Latin American major market or at the international level.
Experience in supervising and supporting several countries at the same time would be relevant.
Fluency in English and Spanish. Knowledge of another UN language would be an asset.
