APV is currently seeking for the qualified Cambodian candidates to fill the position of Deputy Head of Tax & Business

Deputy Head of Tax & Business will serve certain roles to implement Tax & Business Division through providing valuable service to the clients and provide on job training of staff under the division. In order to fulfill the objectives major responsibilities will be following: 

Key Responsibilities
General

  • Develop an effective Tax, Business and Investment Implementation Manual and Working Papers.
  • Provide training, coaching, and guidance to staff in conducting their jobs effectively.
  • Identifying, researching and helping to resolve all complex tax and business issues.
  • Perform related work as assigned by CEO.
Business and Investment
Advising clients with clarity in areas of expertise such as:

  • Green field company formation, merger, and acquisition
  • Due diligence, business valuation, and investment appraisal
  • Study of potential large-scale purchasing opportunities, keeping an eye out for any problems, coordinating solutions and ensuring an acquisition complies with applicable laws and procedures.
  • Typically work for corporations or other organizations looking to expand. Explore the potential benefits and costs of combining another business' or organization's liabilities and assets.
  • Restructuring of businesses including corporate reorganizations
  • Demonstrate excellent research skills, business knowledge, due diligence, and valuation strategies
Tax Consultancy and Advisory
Advising clients with clarity in areas of expertise such as:

  • Overseas enterprises including use of jurisdictions with favorable double tax treaties, and knowledge of transfer pricing.
  • Inheritance tax
  • Implementation of tax planning arrangements
  • Remuneration packages
  • Deal with Tax Authorities for tax issue clearances and the drafting of all necessary documentation
  • Ad hoc tax advisory work
  • Attending conferences with Tax Counsel
  • Drafting of documentation in respect of tax advice.
  • Dealing with Tax Authority enquiries following the implementation of the advice.
  • Liaising with third party professionals including solicitors, other accountant, tax advisers and
  • independent financial advisers
Tax Compliance and Control
You will be required to support the compliance review of self-assessment tax returns such as:

  • Review of clients’ tax returns including those for individual and trusts.
  • Review of corporation tax computations.
  • Providing tax technical support to the tax team, audit and accounts department.
  • Looking after a portfolio of individual and trust clients and ensuring they meet their compliance obligations in a timely manner.
  • Dealing with Tax Authority enquiries in respect of compliance issues.
Divisional Management
You will be required to manage the staff of Tax and Business Division in the following:

  • Staff development: mentoring junior members of the team to increase and enhance their
  • knowledge and attain professional qualifications
  • Overseeing work passed to junior members of the team
  • Identifying ideas to change and develop processes and procedures within the department so that the firm moves to greater levels of efficiency and better service
  • Carrying out general departmental management administrative tasks as required on a weekly basis.

Qualifications:
  • University degree in accounting, finance or audit
  • Graduated or almost graduated CPA is preferred
  • Good communication and written English skills required.
  • A team player with strong inter-personal skills.
  • Internationally mobile and able to travel.
  • Fluency in English both written and oral is essential.
