It could simply be a powerful poem about your grandmother's journey to become educated.

Participation in the “Girl Rising Creative Challenge” (the “Challenge”) constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules (the “Rules”) and the decisions of Sponsor (as defined below), which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Any violation of these rules may, at Sponsor’s discretion, result in disqualification. The Challenge is sponsored by Girl Rising, a District of Columbia nonprofit corporation (the “Sponsor”), located at 114 West 26th Street, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.

CHALLENGE PERIOD. Challenge begins at 12:01 AM EST on May 22, 2018 and entries must be received by August 15, 2018 at 11:59 PM EST (“Challenge Period”). Sponsor’s computer shall be the official time-keeping device for the Challenge. 

ELIGIBILITY. This Challenge is only open to persons who, as of the last day of the month prior to the date of entry, are at the legal age of majority. For those who are not at the legal age of majority as of the date of entry, a parent or legal guardian must provide an electronic signature and electronic contact information on the submission form. This Challenge is not open to residents and/or citizens of Canada. Trustees, directors, officers, and employees of Sponsor and HP, Inc. (“HP”), or their respective affiliates, or any other party associated with the development or administration of this Challenge, including the immediate family and persons residing in the same household as such individuals, are not eligible to participate in the Challenge. By participating in the Challenge, the entrant agrees to be fully and unconditionally bound by these Rules, and represents and warrants that he or she meets the eligibility requirements in these Rules. In addition, entrant agrees to accept the decisions of the Sponsor as final and binding as it relates to the Challenge and operation of this Challenge. This

HOW TO ENTER. To enter the Challenge, during the Challenge Period entrant must (i) access www.girlrising.com/challenge (the “Website”) and click on the button “enter Challenge”; and (ii) complete and submit the online Challenge form by submitting all required information, including their contact information (including entrant’s full name, entrant’s mail address, entrant’s email address, entrant’s gender, entrant’s birth date, entrant’s phone number), answering a short series of questions, and uploading an original creative work through the Website, including either a video (2 minutes or less) (“Video”), audio/music recording (2 minutes or less) (“Recording”), artwork/photograph (up to 3 images) (“Artwork”) or essay (250 words or less) (“Essay,” and together with the Video, Recording, Artwork, each, a “Submission”). Entrants who are under the age of eighteen (18) must comply with the PARENTAL RELEASE requirements set forth below.  All Submissions must comply with SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS specified below. Submissions, including entrant’s email and any provided information, are subject to the Sponsor’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, including all other policies incorporated therein, which are incorporated herein by reference.

Parental Release.  If entrant is under the age of eighteen (18), Sponsor must obtain the permission, consent and release from a parent or legal guardian of such entrant before such entrant will be allowed to enter the Challenge.  If an entrant who is under the age of 18 is interested in participating in the Challenge, he or she must have their parent or legal guardian complete the parental release form available on the Website (the “Parental Release”) by filling in all required information, including entrant’s name, parent/legal guardian’s name, address and signature, and date, and deliver it to Sponsor by email to info@girlrising.com.  Parental Release must be received by Sponsor on or before the end of the Challenge Period in order for entrant to be eligible to enter the Challenge.

Submission Requirements.  Entrant represents and warrants that their Submission or any portions thereof (including any text, music, artwork, set designs, graphics or similar) is entrant’s original work which has not been copied from others and does not violate the rights of any other person or entity, has not been previously unpublished, and the entrant has the right and power to enter the Challenge and perform all the obligations. Videos and Recordings must not be larger than 500 MB. Video files must be in MOV or MP4 format.  Recording files must be MP3. For best results, Videos should be in 16 x 9 aspect ratio.  Videos and Recordings must be in English.  If any person whose name, voice, likeness or persona is referenced, shown or otherwise captured in the Submission, entrant must secure the written consent of such person(s), and, if such person(s) are under the age of majority, also the consent of such person(s) parent/guardian.  Each entrant is solely responsible from obtaining from all other applicable individuals, governmental bodies, or other entities any and all required rights, releases, consents, clearances, licenses and other authorizations necessary to exploit and otherwise submit the Submission, and use and publish the Submission, in any and all forms of media, including, but not limited, location releases.
