Post Date 2/1/2016

Description
At the heart of Pact is the promise of a better tomorrow. The promise of a healthy life. Of dignified living. Of sustainable natural resources that benefit communities. Now more than ever in its 42-year history, Pact is helping millions of people who are poor and marginalized discover and build their own solutions and take ownership over their future.

Pact enables systemic solutions that allow those who are poor and marginalized to earn a dignified living, be healthy, and take part in the benefits that nature provides. Pact accomplishes this by strengthening local capacity, forging effective governance systems, and transforming markets into a force for development.

Pact Myanmar is one of the largest of Pact’s global programs, and one of most diverse integrated development operations in Myanmar. Pact Myanmar delivers high quality local community-owned local governance, health, livelihoods and natural resource management programs that impact the lives of almost 5 million individuals across 35 townships and almost 4,000 rural communities. With community governance and financial independence at the core of our approach, and supported by a diverse range of bilateral and private donors, we focus on local ownership; long-term sustainability; a long-term approach to community and institutional capacity development; and the power of markets to help lift people out of poverty. In addition, Pact also operates Myanmar’s largest micro-finance fund, which has more than 600,000 active customers across the country. Pact employs a total of 3,100 Myanmar nationals working through 80 offices around the country.
