OBJECTIVE:
This is a Foundation course for any worker involved with working at height and using fall protection equipment. This Module also give supervisors and managers an insight to the equipment and safe application of fall protection equipment. It is designed to give a candidate a good understanding of the principles of using fall protection equipment.
By the end of the course, the participants will be able to recognize common safety and health hazards, and understand the measures to prevent fall from heights. This course also helps to create an awareness of the dangers at the construction sites and enable workers to understand their role in the prevention of accidents.

- Legislation – Personal Protective Equipment regulations; CE Marking; EN Standards
- Hazard analysis and Risk assessment
- The categories for safe work at height Work restraint; Work position; Fall arrest
- Certificates of conformity and trace ability
- Inspection and record keeping procedures
- Limitations of use and when to retire from service
- Strengths and characteristics of equipment
- The importance of rescue provision
- Identification of equipment using samples
- The correct fitting of harnesses
- Identification of damage equipment using sample
- Identification of different styles of rescue equipment using samples

TRAINER
Mr. Mam Sotharin (Master’s Degree in Radio Engineering) Associate Trainer
(Specialties: Health, Safety and Environment Management, Environmental Management)
Mr. Mam Sotharin used to work for more than 10 years experiences in Health, Safety and Environment Management(HSE) at Total Cambodge as HSE Manager carrying out safety inspection in various sites service station, warehouse, depot, production, office, etc. He used to be HSE Manager at British American Tobacco (BAT) for almost 8 years in promoting safety culture across the company for worker level & supervisor level and for contractor. Last but not least, he also used to work at Cambodian Red Cross for almost 5 years as well as Team Leader of Medical Engineering Team. Apart from working experiences, Mr. Mam Sotharin has been conducting various training workshops on different topics, from general safety to the specifics likes forklift safety, worksite safety, manual handling, housekeeping, defensive driving, confined space entry, hand & portable tool, etc. Furthermore, he has attended several international training workshops abroad OSH Management System in Tokyo, Japan; Environmental, Health & Safety Development Program in Australia; Environmental, Health & Safety Review (audit) Skills in India. With high distinction, Mr. Mam Sotharin successfully graduated with a Master’s Degree in Radio Engineering at Yerevan Polytechnical Institute, Armenia (former Soviet Union) in 1992.
