Organisation Description

This Life Cambodia (TLC) is seeking a full time Accountant to manage accounts and administrative duties.  This position will begin immediately and will be a one year renewable contract.  The position is based in Siem Reap but you may be required to travel to rural areas.  This Life Cambodia is focused on developing educational and sustainable development projects that directly benefit the lives of children and their communities in rural Cambodia. We believe education enables children to develop the essential skills needed to make positive changes in their lives and break free from poverty.  Our strategy is to improve the quality of life for underserved and vulnerable groups in Cambodia.  

The Position: Accountant

Job category: Accounting and Finance - Community Development
Job location: Siem Reap

Job Schedule: Full-time

Job duties:

• Record daily transactions of the program/projects activities using accounting software
• Monitor accounting reports from petty cash
• Collect all original invoices and bank statements on time
• Edit bank and cash reconciliation
• Arrange files (soft and hard) in an orderly manner and keep them updated
• Update monthly budget tracking sheets and monthly financial reports
• To fill in and archive any documents related to accountancy or budgets
• Prepare donor financial reports
• Prepare payroll and all documents for bank transfer
• Prepare tax on salary declaration and pay to the Tax Department
• Greet and introduce visitors to TLC’s program/projects (front of house)

This position may also require the undertaking of additional jobs on request by the TLC director.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting
• At least 2 years of work experience, preferable with International NGO
• Computer competency required, especially MS Excel and Accounting software – QuickBooks
• Fluent in both English and Khmer (written and spoken)
• Sound understanding of topics such as; cash flow management, main bank transactions, budget v’s actual recording, payment vouchers preparation, verification of receipts and other expenditure documentation, preparation/use simple financial monitoring tools.
• Good understanding of the tax and labour laws
• Attention to detail, accurate and reliable
• Confident, outgoing, passionate individual who wants to work with a progressive, dynamic and creative team in an International NGO setting

Desired:

• Masters Degree in Accounting
• Understanding of development and educational issues in Cambodia

Salary Package – The successful candidate will be offered a base salary between $250-350 per month, based on qualifications. The package also includes savings scheme, health and accident Insurance, work related gas reimbursement and a telephone allowance.
