Habitat
for Humanity International is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian
housing ministry. The purpose and goal of Habitat for Humanity
International is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the

Habitat
for Humanity, sometimes referred to as “Habitat”, began working in the
Asia-Pacific region in 1983 with a pilot program in Khammam, India.
Since then, Habitat has built and rehabilitated tens of thousands of
homes. Every year thousands of other families are helped with repairs,
and financial and technical assistance. In addition, tens of thousands
of families have benefited from Habitat programs to help victims of the
2004 Asian tsunami and other natural disasters.
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) in conjunction with our Asia/Pacific (AP) Area Office currently has two exciting and rewarding opportunities open as Regional Program Advisors supporting our Asia/Pacific region. These strategic and challenging positions will report to the Regional Program Manager and provide technical expertise and direction for the design and development of HFHI's program and projects on a national level. These regional roles will play a key role in the development of national project strategic goals and objectives and will be a partner in ensuring proper planning of strategic goals and objectives in the assigned National Organizations (NOs).
The
Regional Program Advisors either serve as generalists providing a wide
range of program support to a single country, or serve as specialists
providing specific technical expertise to a number of countries. In
addition to working with NO’s, the Regional Program Advisors will be
instrumental in developing and nurturing relationships with other key
organizations and institutions to expand and enhance existing programs,
increase resources, and increase Habitat’s regional and global networks. This position will be based at our Philippine satellite office, located in Manila.
DUTIES/AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
• Develop and implement strategic and operational plans for area of responsibility in the assigned country/countries
• Provide support to National Organizations in the area(s) of expertise
• Develop and implement systems, processes, and tools to enhance specific program area(s)
• Facilitate the evaluation and assessment of certain programs, monitoring performance and recommending actions for improvement
• Coordinate the development and/or implementation of tools that support capacity building in the area(s) of expertise
• Research new development models and promote best known practices

Required Skills: | |||||||||||||||||||||
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• At least 5 years’ experience in the area of technical expertise with proven record of success
• Minimum 2 years’ international experience, preferably with Habitat for Humanity or other INGO
• Excellent cross-cultural communication skills; proven experience working successfully in a multi-cultural, multi-faith context
• Proven success in networking with other organizations and key personnel
• Strong training background, experience in negotiations, and facilitations skills required
• In-depth field experience a must
• Bachelor’s degree in relatable field required
• Candidates who are Filipino Nationals will be given first priority for search
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE A MAJOR PLUS:
• Master’s degree in related field preferred
• Written and oral fluency in Area specific language preferred
• Demonstrated project management experience
• Expertise in high level problem solving, evaluation, and sound decision making skills
• Successful experience working independently, on a team, and on multiple key projects
