Project Coordinator of a Biodigester Project
Description
People in Need
(PIN), an international NGO, seeks applications from pro-active and responsible
candidates for the position of Project
Coordinator (PC).
PC will participate in the implementation of
a three-year project which aims to contribute to the development of a
permanent, market-based biodigester sector and within 2.5 years ensure energy
supply for more than 12,000 people living in the rural areas.
The PC will in cooperation with PIN’s
partners (National Biodigester Program and its Provincial Biodigester Program
Offices) work in PIN’s target provinces on the establishment of Biodigester
User Networks, building networks’ capacity, finding low-cost and sustainable
approaches for ensuring their long-term performance and others.
The PC will spend first several months of
her/ his work in the Takeo province where she/ he will learn from PIN and PBPO
staff.

Full time position, long-term contract
Salary base
From 550 to 700 USD (+ regular bonuses) depending on PC’s qualification
Responsibilities
- In cooperation with PIN’s partners, facilitate the establishment of approx. 75 Biodigester User Networks, build networks’ capacity, find low-cost and sustainable approaches for ensuring their long-term performance and others
- Conduct mainly field based research and based on its results provide advice to other stakeholders
- Attend meetings with PIN’s partners and plan together the specific design and implementation of project activities
- Travel to Phnom Penh and provinces in order to attend meetings with PIN staff
- Report regularly on the progress of project activities
- Ensure appropriate project visibility
Mandatory Requirements
- At least 5 years full-time experience with LNGOs and INGOs in project management
- Open communication style, ability to work on the development of own strong and weak sides
- Extensive experience in the facilitation of establishing and strengthening community-based groups
- Sensitive to people’s perspectives
- Good interpersonal skills (in communication at the community level and with the government staff)
- University degree in Rural Development or a related subject (or equivalent skills and knowledge gained through working with LNGOs and INGOs)
- Honest and reliable person with positive attitude to work and ability to encourage & motivate others
- Fluent spoken and written English and Khmer (candidates with limited English skills will not be accepted)
- Willingness to travel extensively on a motorbike

Requirements
- Understanding of biodigesters and biodigester projects management is a strong advantage
- Very good presentation and explanation skills
- Very good organizational skills including strong attention to detail
- Ability to produce precise documents in a comprehensive and attractive format
- Competent use of Windows Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Ability to work (if necessary) under time pressure and deliver results on time
- Ability to work independently and manage workload with limited supervision
