The European Council on Refugees and Exiles is seeking a new Secretary General
ECRE is a pan-European, 70-strong alliance of refugee-assisting NGOs,
established to promote the rights of those who seek international
protection in Europe. Our aim is clear: to promote their protection and
integration, based on the values of human dignity, human rights and an
ethic of solidarity.
Do you have the skills to lead ECRE to achieving these goals?
A central source of leadership, you’ll inspire and drive our
strategic development within a dynamic social and political environment.
You’ll collaboratively develop ECRE's strategic planning and actively
engage our membership at every stage. You’ll represent us across Europe:
developing relationships, raising our media profile and maximising our
impact through policy development and advocacy.
This role requires a natural leader with significant experience at
senior level, a strong commitment to working for those seeking
international protection and a background in working with or for an NGO.
Cultural and political awareness and strategic skills will prove
invaluable, as will a solid understanding of Europe’s political systems
and how to influence them. You’ll also need fund-raising experience,
people management skills and the ability to negotiate at the very
highest levels.
To apply, please send the completed application form (below) and your curriculum vitae to recruitment@ecre.org.
Deadline for the receipt of applications is 5th February 2012. Interviews are expected to be held in the week 27th February - 2nd March.
