THET - Medium Paired Institutional Partnership (PIP) Grants _ Deadline: 30-Oct-2011

THET is pleased to announce a call for applications for Medium Paired Institutional Partnership (PIP) Grants.

The grants form part of the Health Partnership Scheme (HPS) which is a four-year programme that funds health partnerships to carry out training and capacity-building projects in low-income countries. The Scheme is funded by the UK Department for International Development. It is managed by THET in a consortium with HLSP to deliver the programme.

Round One Funding for Medium PIP Grants

The Paired Institutional Partnerships (PIPs) funding stream will fund effective health partnership projects, encouraging reach into under-served and rural areas. Round One of funding is for Medium grants of up to £15,000 per year for projects of 12 to 24 months.

Eligibility for Medium PIP Grants

Full details of eligibility criteria are provided in the PIP Grant Overview. Broadly, the following eligibility criteria for PIP grants is as follows:

  • Grant recipients are eligible institutions as stated in the Institutional Eligibility section of the PIP Grant Overview
  • Applications must be made by established health partnerships (‘Links’)
  • Grants are for single, time-bound projects that are deliverable within the budget and timeframe for Medium PIP grants; £15k per annum for a 12 to 24-month project
  • The project operates within countries listed in the Eligible Countries section of the PIP Grant Overview.
Most Paired Institutional Partnerships will be with DFID and Devolved Administration priority countries, although applications relating to other low-income countries may be considered if the projects are outstanding, reach the poorest and there is a clear rationale justifying the exception.
