The Exam Preparation Outreach Program (EPOP) is a unique non-profit program launched in June 2009 in Myanmar and Thailand to support aspiring civil-society workers to obtain the qualifications needed to study relevant programs at high-quality international universities throughout Asia. We are a part-time study program designed specifically for people who work. People interested in preparing for university study don’t need to take time off from their important careers. This program is expanding its activities to Cambodia and Laos this year.
The EPOP method combines a range of learning services delivered depending on the needs and locations of each individual student.
The range of services includes:
- Online courses and diagnostic exams which have proven to increase student scores dramatically on the TOEFL, IELTS and GED Exams.
- Diagnostic testing and feedback to hundreds of students each year.
- Connecting students with volunteer face-to-face teachers and online tutors that guide them and encourage them on their path to university.
- Online chat with EPOP administrators, students, teachers and tutors.
- Academic self-study calendar with weekly reminders and encouraging emails providing students with direction and motivation.
- Facilitation and proctoring of Official TOEFL ITP exams for students throughout Southeast Asia. These exams are accepted for university entrance by many partner universities throughout the region.
- Exam fees and logistics for all exam qualifications.
EPOP Asia is partnered with many different scholarship donors and Universities throughout Asia. Being an EPOPper significantly increases your chances of getting funding for international universities if you are successful in the program. In our first 2 years of operation around 40% of the students successfully finishing EPOP requirements have been awarded scholarships.
Applicants must:
- Have experience working in the community
- Seek to work in the community for the long-term
- Have clear direction and plan for university
- Commit to hard work and good time-management
