NGO Committee on the Rights of the Child (NGOCRC), a coalition of 51 National and International organizations, advocates for Child Rights in Cambodia and ensures support for UNCRC through monitoring its implementation, cooperation with member organizations, and networking with relevant agencies. With funding support from Plan International Cambodia and Save the Children, NGOCRC is now seeking for a qualified Cambodian national for the position of Child Rights Officer (CRO) based in Phnom Penh for full time.
Key Responsibilities
- Cooperate with Senior Child Participation Officers to facilitate Child Advocate Network in the NGOCRC’s target areas.
- Provide technical assistance to Child Support Team (CST) working voluntarily in the NGOCRC's Secretariat on Child Participation issue/concept and other related fields.
- Manage and facilitate workshop on child rights and child participation and other special events under supervision of Child Rights Program Manager.
- Assist NGOCRC members and/or networks in conducting capacity building for existing children clubs/peer educator on Child Participation and improve functioning of networks.
- Support NGOCRC members and networks to establish, mobilize and link children clubs for promoting child participation especially participation of children in decision making process at different levels, upon request;
- Develop IEC materials related to Child Rights.
- Liaison with local, regional and global networks for children participation;
- Assist Child Rights Program Manager in analyzing Child Participation and Child Rights issue;
- Assist Child Rights Program Manager to coordinate members and/or networks on budgeting, reporting, planning and monitoring.
- Travel to provinces frequently if needed
- Other tasks assigned by Child Rights Program Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Law or related field;
- At least 2-years of experiences in Child Rights and/or Child Participation;
- Knowledge of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)
- Do not have any history of child abuse and SAY NO TO CHILD ABUSE;
- Willing to work as a team, especially with children;
- Computer: MS word, Excel, Power Point internet and e-mail;
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and Communication skill;
- Able to write and speak English fluently;
- Highly self-motivated
- Ability to take initiative and work under pressure;
- Being honest, hard-working and high responsibility.
