Good Neighbors Cambodia (GNC) is the field country office of Good Neighbors International working in 37 countries in the world. GNC is implementing long-term development program focusing on sponsorship, child protection, education, health, WASH, income generation & partnership building and advocacy in 9 Community Development Programs in 5 provinces of Cambodia; and we are expanding more programs to other provinces to meet our rapid growth. GNC is now working with key sustainability partners and relevant department of government and NGOs to promote positive impact to vulnerable people, especially children. We are inviting motivated and qualified candidates to join our dynamic team for the following positions:

School WASH Project Officer, 1 position based in head office, Phnom Penh
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary and other benefits such as 13th month salary, provident fund, health and accident insurance for 24 hours and phone card allowance.

Job Summary: School WASH Officer needs to ensure that the Good School Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) project is implemented effectively, accountability and timely in accordance with the GNC’s philosophy. He/she will also assist the Senior Health and WASH Officer to monitor and provide technical support to staffs at community development program (CDP) level to ensure they are able to implement qualified WASH activities at school and community in alighted with WASH strategic plan and relevant guidelines.


Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with CDP’s staff to conduct need assessment for WASH intervention at school and community.
  • Lead and manage the Good School WASH project budget and activities to ensure it is implemented in quality manner and timely.
  • Facilitate to form up school WASH working group at national and provincial level to plan, monitor and support school WASH project implementation.
  • Organize National WASH Workshop and join organizing any events at national level.
  • Conduct regularly WASH training to school management team and community youths to ensure they have capacity to teach school student, children in Child Club and for peer education.
  • Facilitate to conduct regular meeting among school WASH working group, school management team and youth for sharing and improve quality of school WASH project implementation.
  • Conduct survey on WASH practice in target school, do data analysis and reporting
  • Conduct regular field visit to the provinces for school WASH project implementation, monitoring and monthly and semi-annual reporting.
  • Actively participate in project evaluation.
  • Assist in providing technical support, training and workshop on WASH to sector staffs and monitor their implementing particularly in Water Station, Water Purifier, Toilet, hand-washing Space, Water Supply and Wells etc.
  • Build relationship and networking with NGOs partner, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) officer at national, provincial and district level and other stakeholders for the purpose of supporting and implementing WASH project.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirement
  1. Bachelor degree in Community Development, Water/Civil Engineering or related.
  2. At least 2 years of previous experiences in managing and implementing WASH activities or project
  3. Good development facilitation including empowerment, community mobilization and transformational development.
  4. Good interpersonal, communication and networking skills.
  5. Honest and trustworthy, hardworking, high commitment, initiative and willing to learn
  6. Competent in written English communication, computer literate (Ms. Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet and E-mail)
  7. Willing travel and overnight stay at the project sites
