Pour un Sourire d’ Enfant (PSE) or For a Child’s Smile is a non-profit organization and founded by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières, was established since 1995 in Cambodia. PSE’s mission is to help the most marginalised and debrided children escape from destitution and lead them to decent, skilled and well remunerated jobs. PSE has six main programmes adapted to the needs of the children, those programmes include: food, health, protection, education and schooling, vocational training, and helping families. PSE employs more than 600 employees and provides help to more than 6,500 children and 3000 families. We are operating in Phnom Penh, Sihanouk Ville and Siem Reap. We are looking for qualified candidates for the positions below.
Job Title: Soft skill trainer
Type of Contract: 2 months
Job grade: 6
Immediate Manager: Training and Employment Manager
Location of Work: Phnom Penh - Working Hours: 42.5 Hour/week
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Overall Responsibility
- In charge of the soft-skills training component within each training, he is also responsible to deal with the actual social problems of the trainees and to advise them and coach them for those who need special support. He will also support UPWD’s action in the community
- Organization Chart
- Check daily attendance and share it with concerning people to prepare weekly allowance for trainees
- Plan schedule of training with three trainers to ensure that every trainee can join all the lessons of soft skill training.
- Update soft skill lessons base on our beneficiaries’ issues.
- Find new video for our trainees.
- Provide counselling to all our beneficiaries at least one time per trainee.
- Provide counselling to beneficiaries at the workplace.
- Be responsible for trainees’ overall wellbeing and help in correcting their discipline, attitude, behavior and morality during the practical hour and whole training period
- Assign rotation team leaders amongst trainees in order to help you to supervise them; and also to train them how to supervise others or supervise themselves during roleplays or group discussion.
- Work close with the UPWD Ngo
- Make field visit to support UPWD in the community
- Attend a regular team meeting with Theory trainer, Training and employment Managers other related people for any issue related to training and trainee’s development (at least have bi-weekly meeting)
- Share good knowledge and experience with the team the new method to improve the quality of training
- Join class council to evaluate trainee’s study progress and to deal with discipline issue
- Share any problem happened during practical hour and propose solution or solve together
- Use internal communication tools such as information board, e-mail, bulletin board, telephone, message, etc. as much as possible for everyday work activities
- Communicate very closely with theory trainers about how to use observation form and other checkup test with trainees
- Communicate with Training and Employment manager and Social Team to check all problems related to trainee’s family issue and with Medical Team for health problem
- Communicate regularly with Training Assistant for Administration to process, inventory control and order the materials if it is necessary for the training process
- Work with Project Training and employment Manager to deal with trainee discipline and behavior during practice
- Often contact with Employment Center to keep you updated with current job market for trainees and other job opportunity, then share it with trainees during the practical hour
- Write monthly training development report and send it to Training and employment Manager
1. Education Background
- Bachelor degree in field of Management, Psychology, and other related fields.
- At least 2 years of professional experience related to the position
- Counseling skills
- Facilitation skill
- Strong personal communication and social networking
- Good experience in Public Speaking is preferable
- Good at planning and execution
- Fluent in English
- Computer literacy Ms. Word, Excel, Ms. Outlook Express, Ms. Power Point
- Respect to PSE’s spirit
