Pour un Sourire d’ Enfant (PSE) or For a Child’s Smile is a non-profit organization and founded by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières, was established since 1995 in Cambodia. PSE’s mission is to help the most marginalised and debrided children escape from destitution and lead them to decent, skilled and well remunerated jobs. PSE has six main programmes adapted to the needs of the children, those programmes include: food, health, protection, education and schooling, vocational training, and helping families. PSE employs more than 600 employees and provides help to more than 6,500 children and 3000 families. We are operating in Phnom Penh, Sihanouk Ville and Siem Reap. We are looking for qualified candidates for the positions below.
Motor bike Technician (This position is fixed-term contract, based in Phnom Penh)
S/he will teach students in PSE center on mechanical sector with specific focus on motorbike repair in order to capacitate and enable them to get job at the end of training. Also, s/he will prepare the session plan, teaching material and support students to do their best in learning.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Control the maintenance of vehicle
- Maintenance and reparation all kinds of motorbike according to the tools available in the garage.
- Be responsible to assist the garage manager on SVS garage operation.
- Be responsible for finding all kinds of spare parts for supporting the reparation.
- Be responsible for inventory of all materials in the garage.
- Be responsible on quality of motorbike maintenance and reparation.
- Maintain overall safety.
- Operate office equipment (e.g., computer terminal and peripheral equipment, calculator, copier, etc.)
- Create and apply procedure of car maintenance/repair.
- Create and apply check-lists
- Provide consultation to administration department on PSE motorbike repair in external garage.
- Perform activities, functions and other related tasks and duties as assigned or required.
- Teach them with practical pedagogy over 70% minimum.
- Attend in class council with other teachers to discuss about students’ problems.
- Be responsible for student score every month and semester.
- Check student’s absences.
- Create and follow weekly, monthly and yearly teaching plan.
- Assist the garage manager to prepare the annual budget plan.
- Write monthly report to garage manager.
- Propose and control budget and revenue of the garage.
- Assist in collecting, recording and depositing revenues received.
- Balance accounts and assists in preparing reports and statement.
- Assure the hygiene, cleanliness and tidiness of the workshop and its surrounding area.
- Greet and receive customers.
- Collaborate with teammates to exchange general knowledge, techniques, experiences, and information in order to support SVS garage successful operation.
- Do the weekly meeting with garage manager.
- Control student discipline during practice and teaching
- Make yourself as model to students.
- Train, supervise, counsel students.
- Control general disciplines of students such uniform, safety shoes, hair style, nails, dispute and hygiene.
- Identify any problem of students by listening to them and find solution for their problems.
- Participate training course prepare by PSE or external training course.
- Update technical competency according to the new technology.
- Propose self development action plan to manager.
- Follow the requested training if required.
- Develop the informatics knowledge (MS. Office, Window, Internet, Email, …)
- Develop English language and/or French language
Education Background
- Must have minimum Certificate of Technician in Mechanic/Automobile or related fields.
- At least 2 years of working experience related to mechanical machinery work.
- Used to work with difficult children.
- Be able to repair different breakdowns of motorbike.
- Be aware of techniques, norm and characteristics of different machines.
- Be able to drive (with driving license)
- Be able to train students during practice in the garage.
- Be able to speak, read, and write in English. French is preferable.
- Be able to use internet, e-mail.
- Will have flexible ideas to develop the training.
- Be able to use diagnostic scanning machine for the car and other special tools.
