Pour un Sourire d’ Enfant (PSE) or For a Child’s Smile is a non-profit organization and founded by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières, was established since 1995 in Cambodia. PSE’s mission is to help the most marginalised and debrided children escape from destitution and lead them to decent, skilled and well remunerated jobs. PSE has six main programmes adapted to the needs of the children, those programmes include: food, health, protection, education and schooling, vocational training, and helping families. PSE employs more than 600 employees and provides help to more than 6,500 children and 3000 families. We are operating in Phnom Penh, Sihanouk Ville and Siem Reap.  We are looking for qualified candidates for the positions below.

Siem Reap Center Coordinator (This position is fixed-term contract, based in Siem Reap)

S/he will manage day-to-day operation of PSE Siem Reap to ensure good team management, budget management, and student’s study management. Also, s/he will work closely with students and families of the students and make the follow up in the community to ensure students have good discipline and study well.

To accommodate the integration students with safety and find solution for all the problems of the families helped by PSE in SR in order to allow their children to study with good quality.

3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Purpose of the job:

Activities and responsibilities:
Main activities
  • Taking care of the problems of the students and make them safe in the center.
  • Make the students feel comfortable with their life in SR center.
  • Follow all the absence and settle the problems of the students who study in the  
     public schools.
  • Follow up the families.
Processes to manage and/or control
I. Management
  • Define and update objective for his/her staff
  • Monitor and evaluate the staff by individual interview and send it to his/her manager with  fiche d’entretien
  • Control the working hour and daily tasks of his/her staff
  • Prepare the action plan for monthly and yearly planning to run his/her team smoothly
  • Organize the meeting and settle the problem with his/her staff and get back to the manger
  • Manage the conflict and control the good atmosphere of team
  • Prepare and organize well his/her documents
  • Make the report to his/her manager 
II. Operation
1. Financial Management
  • Prepare the yearly budget 
  • Control all the expenses in the SR center ( invoice and data accounting)
  • Check and control the money participation and sharing by the students
  • Control the money provided to the students who study in the public schools
  • Respect the procedure with accounting
  • Control the monthly chase, verify at the end of each months for the account statement
2. Administrative management
  • Facilitate the stays or logistic of the students or the teachers who are in mission in SR
  • Control the materials used in the center ( stock and inventory)
  • Using the first aid kits many times before sending the staff or the students in the hospital
  • Control the updating database
  • Assure that the electricity is used in the effective way
  • Assure the safety for the students in the centers (in-out of the students, the teachers, the materials)
  • Assure the materials for the students used in the center are enough
  • Assure the students are well discipline and respect the rule of the center
  • Control well the working hours of the staff 
3. Construction and maintenance
  • Make sure that all the buildings, house, vehicles are well maintenance
  • Keep the center clean and nice all the times
4. External Professional Training
  • In collaboration with the External training managers (comity) in PP, to facilitate the study of the students .
5. Education
  • Be example of the students and the staff who are in the center
  • Meeting with the students every week or every month to discuss about their problems
  • Listen always the problems of the students and help to find the solution for them
  • Follow up the library such as reading, purchasing new book, organize activities to promote
      reading
  • Teach family life training to student who live in the center
  • Creating animation activities in order to participate from the student who stay inside the center and build close relationship….
  • Create weekly activities for the students who stay in the centers
6. Social issues of the families or the students
  • Select the students in the PSE criteria
  • Verify the form control
  • Control the work of social officers and help solve the daily social problems of the families or  the students
  • Listen always the problems of the families
  • Help visit the families to know the progress situation or their needs
  • Control the updating the social database 
7. External School issues
  • Control absence of the students every day and facilitate to organize the disciplinary committee
  • Control that the students have enough study materials to use
  • Help analysis and organize the supplementary course for the weak students in the class 
  • Understand the difficulties of the students in the public schools and respond to their needs 
  • Follow the procedure of disciplinary committee
8. Communication
  • Be representative of PSE in SR and contact with companies to facilitate the job or settle the problems of the students
  • Know all the problems of the students that happen in the working places
  • Communicate with the department of the education in SR, school directors, teachers, local authorities, NGOs to share experiences.  
9. Other
  • Coordinate the discovery class with Orientation Manager
  • Coordinate the student internship such as orientation to working place
  • Report regularly of any concerned related to external training students to external training officer in Phnom Penh
10. Frequency of tasks

inform manager in urgent case
4. QUALIFICATION AND COMPETENCIES
Educational Background:
Bachelor degree in management, Social Science or Psychology or related fields.
Working Experience:
At least 2 year experience in social work or community development
Experience (Counseling, problem solving) in working with the vulnerable children or
 people who have low education.
Experience in communication with others company
Language requirement:
Can be both writing and reading.
Know-How (Technical competencies):
  • Good interpersonal skill
  • Communication Skill
  • Good command of English (French is a plus)
  • Computer skill in Ms-Word, Ms-Excel, Ms-Power Point and Ms-Access is needed
  • Leadership Skills
  • Reliable & Confident
  • Be able to coordinate and handle any problem raised by students\
  • Be able to use facsimile material as Fax, E-mail, Photocopy, Print and Internet
  • Hold a valid driving license and be able to drive and to travel to some provinces in Cambodia and be able to stay on the working field for a specific period of time assigned by responsible manager.
