Pour un Sourire d’ Enfant (PSE) or For a Child’s Smile is a non-profit organization and founded by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières, was established since 1995 in Cambodia. PSE’s mission is to help the most marginalised and debrided children escape from destitution and lead them to decent, skilled and well remunerated jobs. PSE has six main programmes adapted to the needs of the children, those programmes include: food, health, protection, education and schooling, vocational training, and helping families. PSE employs more than 600 employees and provides help to more than 6,500 children and 3000 families. We are operating in Phnom Penh, Sihanouk Ville and Siem Reap.  We are looking for qualified candidates for the positions below.

Academic Officer (This position is fixed-term contract, based in Phnom Penh)

S/he will coordinate with all concerned managers and instructors of School of Hospitality and Tourism to ensure quality of curriculum and student’s results that meet the standards of Hospitality and Tourism Industry in Cambodia and in the region. Also, s/he will support Dean of Hospitality and Tourism in preparing planning, training and administrative tasks of the school.


JOB DESCRIPTION

Immediate Manager: Dean
Subordinate:  Student affairs, Quality Assurance, School Admin, Academic Office (Practice, Theory Interns)
Department: PSEI
Service/Unit: IPEHT/School of Hospitality and Tourism
Location of Work: Phnom Penh or as otherwise directed based on School requirements
Working Hour: 42 ½ hours/week.
2.    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Vision
“Be the center of excellence in vocational training and education programs delivering quality human resources for the expansion and continued growth of the tourism and hospitality industries in Southeast Asia.”

Mission
“To prepare Students for challenging careers in the hospitality and tourism business sectors, to conduct applied research impacting the hospitality and tourism industry on a global level and provide professional and community service promoting the economic development of Cambodia and its people.”

Major duties and responsibilities of this position in support of the above Vision and Mission include, but are not limited to:
  • Is responsible of the academic tasks at School of Hospitality and Tourism
  • Collaborate to work on activities and operation of student affairs
  • Cooperate work with quality assurance officer at School of Hospitality and Tourism
  • Assist School Secretary for all logistics
  • Is responsible of the quality of training and adapt it according to the hospitality Industry needs
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Academic and Pedagogy
  • Develop curriculum and design for school of hospitality and tourism
  • Plan, organize, prepare and conduct train the trainer and pedagogy training
  • Control and back up training portfolio for School of Hospitality and Tourism
  • Manage, Assess and Evaluate process of academic program all division in SoHT
  • Check the teaching, assessment methodology and tools, and follow up of the MRA-TP curriculum
  • Control teaching schedule and training activities
  • Adapt, if necessary, the course content, in collaboration with the instructors, to improve quality of training.
  • Organize and prepare training assessment base on AQRF and CQF
  • Control assessment process and back up portfolio of student results
  • Maintain training application for School of Hospitality and Tourism training
Other relevant tasks
  • Budget planning and control budget expense for academic program
  • Organize twice during the school year a meeting with the advisory board with Vice-Dean
  • Manage administrative Tasks with Student Affairs, QA, School Secretary and students
  • Weekly Report progress of academic program to Dean
  • Comply with the Teacher Code of Ethics
  • Other Duties as assigned by Dean
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Background
  • Successful completion of an accredited degree program leading to a 4-year degree or higher in the Hospitality and Tourism field
Or
Working Experience
  • At least 4 years of professional work experience in the Hospitality and Tourism management and academic field or similar experiences
Savoir Fair (Technical Competency)
  • Have a strong management and team spirit
  • Be able to work closely with professional environment
  • Be able to work in different environment and location
  • Fluency in English, (French is an advantage)
  • Interpersonal and presentation skill, Positive and Computer literate
  • Proper grooming habits
Savoir Etre (Corporate Competency)
  • Promotes the Vision, Mission, and Goals of PSEI and the School of Hospitality and Tourism
  • Demonstrate strong communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skill
  • Able to manage, motivate and inspire others

Health Condition: Good or better with full motion mobility
