World Food Day Contest - Poster Contest - Video Contest

Our climate is changing. And we want you to tell us why food and agriculture must too. There are two ways you can do this. Design a poster or produce a video on the World Food Day theme to enter the competition.

Poster Contest
We’re calling on children and teens all over the world, from age 5 to 19, to use their imagination and create a poster that illustrates this year’s World Food Day theme. Young minds will be inspired by Lorenzo Terranera’s illustrations as they see their favourite fairytale characters identify solutions to climate change and hunger in an enchanted world.

Our everyday actions and decisions all have an impact on the climate. Climate change is affecting our planet and changing our world. It’s causing more natural disasters and environmental problems, which make it harder for us to grow food. Growing food is part of the problem too, as we have been taking shortcuts and harming our planet more so as to produce what we need to survive. In order to feed a growing population, set to reach 9.6 billion by the year 2050, we’ll need to learn to grow what we need in a way that doesn’t continue to damage the planet.

The World Food Day poster contest calls on children and teens from 5-19 to use their imaginations and express their ideas on the World Food Day theme: "Climate is changing. Food and agriculture must too."

Video Contest
Did you know that food security is one of the biggest issues related to climate change? If you’re aged 13 to 19, we want to see your ideas on the World Food Day theme. Produce a video no longer than 1 minute with your smartphone or tablet and tell us what you think.

You don’t need any professional equipment - videos can be shot on your smartphone or tablet.

Upload your video to YouTube adding the hashtag #WFD2016VideoContest to the title and don’t forget to also fill out the form provided to be in with a chance to win. Two winners will be selected, one by a jury and the other based on the number of views or likes on YouTube.
