Fund for Local Cooperation (FLC) is an instrument
of Finnish development cooperation administered by the Embassy of
Finland in Windhoek. FLC support is channeled through the local civil
society and private sector organizations, companies and business
partnerships to complement other development cooperation in Namibia.
The
goal of the Mission's FLC Programme for the years 2016-2018 is to
improve the functioning of civil society and capacity of private sector
for implementing projects for socio-economically and environmentally
sustainable development. Two specific focus areas are to
- enhance democratic participation for enhanced equality and
- promote more dynamic, responsible and inclusive economic growth
This call for proposals is looking for projects to contribute to
the following outcomes of the FLC Programme:
- Democratic participation for enhanced equality
Outcome 1: Increased public participation, especially that of the women, in democratic processes and decision making
- Dynamic, responsible and inclusive economic growth
Outcome 1: Enhanced business and employment opportunities for the vulnerable groups, especially women
Outcome 3: Improved availability of affordable, accessible and quality renewable energy and natural resourcemanagement solutions
How to Apply
Local
agencies/organisations interested in applying for FLC funding, are
invited to familiarize themselves with the FLC Programme 2016-2018
guidelines and all other attachments to this Call for Proposals prior to
submitting a formal application.
The FLC application includes 1) a
cover letter (signed and dated by an authorized representative of the
applicant organization/company), 2) FLC application form (Form A: Civil
Society Organizations or Form B: Private Sector Companies) and
compulsory attachments which are listed in the end of the FLC
application forms. These attachments include a detailed project plan,
budget, results framework, copy of registration document, CVs of the key
personnel and copies of latest annual report and audit reports. In
case the application concerns core funding, the Project Plan is
replaced by the organization's Action Plan and a budget, which indicate
the area of activities that will be funded from the FLC grant.
Approximately five to eight projects are funded annually, with an
average budget of a project being 50 000-200 000 Euros. The expected
length of a project varies from one year to two years.
