Khoj is an autonomous not-for-profit contemporary arts organization based in New Delhi. Through our programs we support and incubate emerging, experimental and transdisciplinary creative practices and pedagogies. Since our inception in 1997, we have been committed towards building global networks and solidarities, especially in the subcontinent. We believe that art is of intrinsic value to society; it is a crucial form of inquiry that provides unique insights and drives change through affect.
We wish to forge a robust, thriving art ecosystem, where the canon of what constitutes art has expanded. We strive for art to be understood and accepted as essential. We aim to build strong art networks and solidarities across the Global South, with our narratives and discourse seen as part of the international art discourse. Further, through our engagement with important issues, we wish to help create a more equitable, empathetic society.
Curatorial Intensive South Asia 2022:
Curatorial Intensive South Asia (CISA) is a fellowship for young curators from South Asia. The program aims to develop a diversity of perspectives on the medium of the exhibition to provide a structured and an experimental inquiry into the possibilities of curatorial practice today. CISA aims to support creative thinking by building an infrastructure for making and exhibiting contemporary art.
We are pleased to announce that Khoj is now accepting applications from emerging curators in South Asia for the 5th edition of the Curatorial Intensive South Asia (CISA) fellowship.

Eligibility:
- Applicants residing in South Asia (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, India, Iran, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka) are eligible to apply.
- Applicants must have realised 2 – 4 curatorial projects
- Applicants should have completed a course in the humanities (anthropology, art history, cultural studies, musicology, literature or other relevant fields.)
Application Requirements:
- A letter of motivation stating your personal drive as well as your expectations of the programme (maximum: 300 words).
- A curatorial proposal that will be developed during the course of the fellowship (maximum: 500 words).
- A CV, including relevant working experience and personal details (Maximum 2 pages).
- A portfolio of 2-4 curatorial projects; this can include texts, images, catalogues etc.
- 2 written references from (former) tutors, professors or employers.
