Support to the Emergence of Strong Civil Society Actors in the Agricultural Sector

The agriculture sector goal in Cambodia is specified in the National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) as being “to ensure food security, increase income, create employment and improve nutritional status for all people by improving the productivity and diversification and commercialisation of agriculture and environmentally sound protection and food safety”. The EU is financing the programme: Promotion of inclusive and sustainable growth in the agriculture sector: fisheries and livestock as a means of supporting the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries in implementing actions to achieve this objective. The programme contains three  components: Sector Policy, Fisheries and Livestock. Each of the components is setting aside up to 25% of its total funding for grants to support the emergence of strong civil society organisations in the agriculture sector.
