Pour un Sourire d’ Enfant (PSE) is a non-profit organization, established at the end of 1995 in Cambodia, working to provide food, shelter, medical care, general education and vocational training to children needing support, e.g. underprivileged children; maltreated children; children living in poverty and children without any formal education in Phnom Penh, Preahsihanouk and Siem Reap. Currently PSE is providing help to more than 6,500 children, supporting around 3,000 children in public schools, 1,500 in the remedial education program, and 1,500 in the vocational training program. Around 500 children benefit from specific educational programs: classes for children with disability, day-care centers, infant welfare, etc. PSE employs more than 600 dedicated staff. Due to rapid growth of existing and new programs, PSE is seeking candidates to fill the position of Librarian based in Phnom Penh.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement effective library management system, rules and regulations.
  Control and manage the library in compliance with the library management system, rules, and regulations.
• Initiate and implement strategies, plans, and activities for promoting the library and fostering reading habits and activities among students and teachers.
• Promote and organize various events and activities in the library to attract students and teachers to use the library.
• Manage all books, equipment, materials, and learning resources in the library effectively.
• Manage all borrowed books and learning resources effectively.
• Find and create partnerships with various relevant organizations such as libraries, bookstores and NGOs in order to supply relevant and useful learning materials and resources for the library and to learn the best library management practices from them.
• Manage the cleanliness, hygiene, decoration, and discipline in the library.

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree or diploma from university or professional vocational school in related skills
• At least 1 year of professional experience in library management
• Strong interest in loving and reading books
• Good command of English; French is an advantage
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Well-organized, proactive and persistent
• Self-managed, dynamic and creative
• Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet & Email)
