Main Purpose of the Workshop
- To provide a brief orientation or update on Cambodian labor laws and regulations to HR practitioners and business managers.
- To share current and practical challenges on labor and employment issues in Cambodia and contribute to better prevention and solution of labor disputes.
- To share expert knowledge on potential consequences/risks of non-compliance with labor registration requirements and some ideas for HR practitioners to develop a plan for ensuring their company’s labor law compliance.
Speakers
Mr. Ouk Chantou, Deputy Director, Department of Labor Inspection, MoLVT.
Mr. NHEAN SoMunin, Labor Arbitration (member of the Arbitration Council) and Labor Law & IR Practice Group Leader/Senior Legal Advisor of HBS Law, who has more than 15 years of professional experience in aspects of industrial and employment relations, collective and individual labor dispute resolutions (ADR), policy research and analysis, , and labor law training. He is a co-author of “EMPLOYMENT IN CAMBODIA: A Legal & Practical Guidebook” published in February 2014 by CBD Partner & Consultancy. Also he is the key author of “Employment Contract and Labor Registration Practical Guide, for Private Companies and NGOs Operating in Cambodia” to be soon published by HBS Law.
Mr. Vong Visoth, a talented young Human Resources practitioner with practical experience managing over 1800 employees. He used to work with Inter-Continental Hotel, Nestle Company, and other multi-national companies, and trade union. Also he has experience in negotiating labor dispute resolution and handling a process of mass-layoff.
Mr. Sar Kinal, Managing Director, Aplus Consulting Co., Ltd. He will serve as the chairperson for the entire workshop and moderator for the panel discussion. He is a key driver for Aplus Consulting in delivering numerous HR, Incorporation, and Taxation services.
