Komar Pikar Foundation (KPF) is a national Non-Government Organisation (NGO) providing services and support to children and youth with moderate to severe disabilities and their families. KPF ascribes to empowering persons with disabilities and their families at all levels of decision-making. KPF also recognises the needs for specialized services and support for the more vulnerable persons with disabilities. KPF is in the process of extending its community based services and requires a key staff member to oversee current and future projects.
With financial support from Australian Red Cross (ARC), KPF is looking for highly qualified, committed and compassionate Cambodian national to fill the positions of Project Supervisors and Teachers of Community Daycare Center. The position will be based in Kampot province. Those positions are one year contract with possible renewal based on performance appraisal.
1. Project Supervisors (2 positions); one position bases in Phnom Penh
Main Responsibilities:
• Assist Project Manager to monitor all related project sites
• Assist Project Manager in identifying staff capacity needs and foster staff development
• Provide support to field staff in the implementation of their responsibilities; ensure accurate timely collection of reporting; assist with action planning
• Supervise and evaluate the performance of field staff
• Provide support to field staff in term of lesson plan and community work
• Liaise with other NGOs and local authorities to improve project development
• Work closely with volunteers in line with action plan and in consultation with Project Manager and Management Team when is necessary
Requirements:
• Qualifications in physical rehabilitation or community development
• At least two years relevant experience
• Proven supervisory, management and mentoring skills
• Good communication skills including written and spoken English
• Commitment to support children with disabilities
• Commitment to team building and working in collaboration with others
• Personal initiative and work independently with less support
• Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Email and Internet)
2. Community Daycare Centers: Teachers (3 positions) and Teacher Assistants (6 positions)
Main Responsibilities:
• Prepare lesson plan, learning and teaching resource materials
• Support children with intellectual disabilities during lessons either in group or individual base
• Keep the classrooms organized and tidy with class displays
• Support children to learn through academic, art, social and sport activities etc...
• Develop a child-friendly school class
• Willing to learn more on disability, rehabilitation and special education
• Closely liaise with Project Supervisor for improve the project and children development
• Work closely with child’s parents and guardians to further improve their mental and physical capabilities
Requirements:
• Have pedagogy certificate or equivalent ones
• At least two year experience in teaching children or children with special needs
• Knowledge in child development & child spirituality
• Willing love children, friendly and compassionately
• Experience in team work and willing to work with expatriate and volunteers
• Innovative in making class more attractive and child friendly
• Good communication skills
